I specialize in EMDR and somatic therapy for adults who are grieving or whose unmet needs as children are now creating a barrier to the fuller life they intuitively know is possible. There are so many possible causes of unmet childhood needs:
• Bereavement as a child or young adult;
• Growing up with traumatized parents (parents who were combat veterans, survivors of war, immigrants, abandoned, etc.)
• Growing up with a parent with a young onset dementia (Frontotemporal Dementia or “FTD”);
• Spending early years focused on a parent or close family member who was addicted, had severe mental illness, or a chronic physical illness;
• Experiencing childhood neglect or physical or emotional abuse.
We may be a good fit if:
• You know that something has to change.
• Have gone as far as you can with will power and talk therapy.
• Believe in power of human-to-human connection
• You are curious about how to incorporate the wisdom of your body into your healing
• You want to live according to your own values instead of just “performing” for others
• Are ready to reclaim your joy after childhood abuse, neglect or abandonment.
