Hello, and thanks for taking a moment to check out my therapist profile. My name is Dylan (he/him) and a few of the nitty gritty pieces are as follows:
(1) I prefer in person sessions but am also available for virtual,
(2) I have an in-person shared office space off I-225 and Iliff near DTC and on the border of Denver and Aurora,
(3) I'm looking to find clients that fit for daytime 10:00 am - 3:00 pm, M-F, but I may also be flexible to other times at the moment,
(4) I currently accept several insurances (Cigna, Aetna, Kaiser, and United) as well as private pay ($150 per session and sliding scale),
(5) I'm working with individual adults (18+) and don't offer sessions for couples or families, I may be open to working with youth, and
(6) Meeting weekly is my ideal but bi-weekly or monthly have worked too.
I find that I work best with people that feel misunderstood or are lacking belonging elsewhere. Sometimes it's in their roles at school, work, or other broader systems and often it's in their relationships. Sometimes, it is people that are struggling with themselves. They might be acting in ways that don't align with their values or how they truly see themselves. They might be unsure of whom they truly are and struggling to figure out what directions feel most authentic. They might be aware of their gifts but are having trouble sharing them to the best of their ability. We can walk through it all together.
I've done therapy with folx around substance use, trauma, depression, anxiety, neurodivergence, disabilities/chronic pain, work/school challenges, identity, grief, coping skills, and many types of relationship challenges (family, friends/peers, intimate partners). Clients have shared with me that they find therapy with me helpful mainly around their confidence or choices, relating to others in ways that feel more authentic, and in feeling they understand themselves more deeply and intimately.
My approach to therapy is largely Humanistic/Person-Centered. I believe we're all growing towards our best, and I practice by creating an environment of understanding, empathy, and authenticity that can be transformative to that end for those who are wanting to explore. Attachment, Co-Regulation, and Psychodynamic ideas inform how I view the the therapeutic relationship and Narrative and Feminist ideas inform my ethics about clients and systems. Culture and Identity are also areas that usually run through our therapeutic conversations but I aim to leave this up to you and whether it is central for you or not.
