Kara believes that healing happens through safe, trusting relationships. She is passionate about helping children feel understood, accepted, and confident while supporting parents with practical tools and encouragement every step of the way. Rather than focusing only on behaviors, Kara works to understand each child's unique experiences, strengths, and needs, helping families build stronger connections and lasting resilience together.
Kara has experience working with children in schools, child welfare, and school-based mental health. She enjoys supporting children who are experiencing anxiety, depression, challenges with emotional regulation, difficulties at school, or struggles in relationships with family or peers. She tailors each session to the individual child, using cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), child-centered therapy, play, art, and game-based interventions to create a space where children feel safe to learn, grow, and heal.
Kara earned her bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and her master's degree in Social Work. She is a Clinical Social Work Candidate in Colorado and practices under the supervision of Kristen Chamberlain.
