I work with adults and adolescents experiencing anxiety, OCD, eating disorders, body image issues and difficulties related to relationships and life transitions. I particularly enjoy helping people who feel caught in patterns that they understand intellectually but have difficulty changing on their own.
My approach is practical, collaborative, and grounded in evidence-based treatments. I use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), and other cognitive and behavioral approaches, adapting treatment to the individual rather than relying on a one-size-fits-all approach. I work with clients to better understand what is keeping them stuck, develop effective tools for managing difficult thoughts, emotions and behaviors and make changes that are consistent with what matters to them.
I believe that our struggles make sense in the context of our experiences, temperament, relationships, and environments. Understanding those patterns can be useful as a starting point for figuring out what can change. I also believe that people are capable of changing patterns that have been with them for a long time.
Clients often describe me as calm, steady, and easy to talk to. I bring more than 20 years of experience in mental health, including clinical work and leadership in behavioral health settings, but believe that effective therapy starts with understanding the person in front of me. My goal is to provide a thoughtful, nonjudgmental space where clients can develop greater flexibility, confidence, and freedom in how they respond to the challenges in their lives.
