I meet you exactly where you are. Not where you think you should be. Not where your family always expected you to land. Where you actually are — right now, in this chapter of your life. From there, we do something quite powerful: we begin to untangle the narratives that have been running your life from behind the scenes, with honesty, curiosity, and deep respect for your pace.
I call it the velvet hammer approach. Gentle enough that you never feel judged or pushed past what you’re ready for. Grounded enough to create the kind of change that doesn’t disappear when life gets hard.
Together, we work toward:
Clear, enforceable boundaries that protect your energy at work and at home
A solid, felt sense of self — knowing what you value, what you like, and what you won’t compromise
The ability to recognize and interrupt inherited trauma scripts before they run your day
Authentic relationships rooted in genuine connection, not self-sacrifice or fear
This is trauma therapy that honors your full humanity and trusts you as the expert on your own life. My role is not to fix you — nothing about you is broken. My role is to help create the conditions for growth that is grounded, sustainable, and entirely self-directed.
A Bit About Me
I’m Kayla Kerekes, MSW, LCSW. I’ve been in practice for twelve years, with the last ten focused specifically on adults navigating trauma, depression, and anxiety — particularly the kind rooted in relationships and family.
I’m well-versed in CBT, DBT, and Motivational Interviewing, and EMDR. I draw from each based on what your needs are. I am also working towards becoming a Certified Sex Therapist focusing on Kink Informed practices. I earned my Master of Social Work from the University of Denver in 2014 and am licensed in the state of Colorado.
The clients I work with are some of the most remarkable people I know, and I consider it an honor to be invited into their growth.
