Hello! I’m Kristan, a Licensed Professional Counselor based in beautiful Colorado. My ultimate passion is helping adults rediscover hope and resilience when navigating anxiety, depression, substance use, and life’s unexpected curveballs. Whether you are looking to explore harm reduction or maintain long-term sobriety, I have advanced training in substance use to help you build a vibrant life you truly love.
I believe the most powerful catalyst for healing is a strong, authentic relationship between therapist and client. You are the true expert on your own life! My role is to walk alongside you in a warm, non-judgmental, and highly collaborative space. Therapy with me isn't a one-sided conversation; it’s a dynamic partnership where we work as a team. Together, we will build a tailored, actionable plan that honors your unique experiences and empowers you to reach your goals.
Because we are beautifully complex beings, I don't just look at a list of symptoms—I look at the whole picture. I take a deeply holistic approach to therapy that factors in your physical health, your environment, and your mental well-being.

I firmly believe that by making natural lifestyle changes, embracing intentional self-care, and building effective coping skills, you can bring your mind and body back into harmony and achieve transformative results.
I hold both a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Master of Arts in Counseling from the University of Colorado Denver. Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of working across diverse environments, including community mental health, community corrections, and nonprofit organizations.
To best support you in both individual and group settings, I utilize a dynamic mix of evidence-based practices, including:
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Solution Focused, and Inner Child Work.
Beyond the Therapy Room
Originally from Southern California, I traded the beach for the mountains and have proudly called Colorado home since 2008! When I’m not working collaboratively with my clients, you can usually find me: Tending to my indoor jungle: I find immense therapeutic joy in taking care of my houseplants; Staying active: I love keeping my body in motion, whether I'm hitting the gym or sweating it out in a HIIT class.; Embracing my inner geek: I'm a big fan of diving into tabletop and video games; Enjoying the simple things: My life outside of work revolves around music, cooking up new recipes, and spending quality time with my loved ones and my two wonderful fur children.
