Clients typically find me when they have experienced a loss. Often, that loss refers to the death of someone close to them, but we also experience grief around the loss of a marriage, a career, a medical diagnosis, or a natural disaster. My role is to be with you on your journey, and to gently help you explore the places where you may feel stuck, scared, or overwhelmed. The therapy room is a place to talk safely about your loss: how it impacts your life, your identity, and your hopes and expectations for the future. Grief has a way of impacting every aspect of life, from physical health to spiritual understanding. Grief counseling can support you, give you resources, and help you feel less alone while you navigate those dark waters.
I received my M.A. in counseling from Regis University, and I previously worked in the hospice world, counseling family members and caregivers of people who had died on hospice. My approach is client-led, I believe the client is the expert on themselves, and my job is to help a client tap into their own inner resiliency and strengths. I offer evidence-based resources, along with creating space for my clients to explore the stories and meaning behind the relationships and experiences that define us as individuals in this world.
