Hi there. I’m Dan. I offer mental healthcare that's more than just talk.
My approach:
I focus on building trust first. It’s on me to create an environment where you feel heard and supported, yet willing to be challenged. My primary job is to help you set and reach goals—and I’m also here for those days when you just need to vent.
I change my approach based on what you and I agree will work best. That said, here's what you can generally expect in sessions with me:
- Exploring and naming your values (What’s important to you? What kind of person do you want to be?)
- Identifying behaviors that don't line up with your values
- Understanding the feelings, thoughts, and situations that lead to those behaviors
- Building awareness and curiosity so that you're able to make different choices
If you're curious about specific interventions, I use a mix of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Narrative Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Internal Family Systems (IFS).
If that was just word salad to you, no worries. The point is that I take different approaches to helping folks based on their preferences and needs. Everyone is different, and my approach reflects those differences; you are what matters most in my work.
I also believe in finding a space for humor — therapy doesn’t always have to feel heavy.
Areas of Focus
I'm here to support people struggling with a host of challenges. In particular: anxiety, depression, career challenges, relationship issues, substance use, and grief. I'm also keen on supporting men and boys to access their vulnerability, and that is by no means my only focus. I get a lot of joy out of working with a diverse population of folks.
Background and Credentials
I have a Master's degree in Counseling and Career Development from Colorado State University, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Candidate (LPCC) in the state of Colorado. I've been seeing Clients since early 2025. Before that, I worked in middle management in the tech world (it was as thrilling as it sounds).
