Hi! My name is Virginia Henschen (she/her), but most people call me Gina. I'm a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional and Licensed Professional Counselor serving the beautiful state of Colorado, and I'm so glad that you're here.
I strive to create a warm, non-judgmental, and compassionate space for clients to better understand themselves in order to create lasting change. Whether you're new to therapy or you're ready to try venturing into deeper territory with EMDR or IFS, I'm here to serve as a guiding light in a world that can feel quite dark at times.
I am an EMDR-trained trauma therapist who specializes in working with those who have experienced religious trauma along with adult children of dysfunctional families, alcoholics, and addicts. I have a special place in my heart for working with the LGBTQIA+ community as well. Some other modalities I incorporate are parts work/Internal Family Systems, mindfulness-based approaches, and cognitive-behavioral therapies.
When you step into my office, you can expect to be met with empathy, compassion, and humor (when appropriate). I believe in building a strong relationship with each of my clients, as this serves as a foundation for "deeper" work. Please don't hesitate to reach out and see if we'd be a good fit for one another!
