Shannon is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over twenty years of experience in the human services field. She opened her practice in Lafayette, Colorado in 2013.
Life can bring unexpected challenges that leave individuals feeling overwhelmed or unsure how to move forward. Shannon works with older teens, emerging adults, and adults, and focuses on helping clients navigate a range of experiences and challenges, including post-separation abuse, coercive control, anxiety, depression, grief, life transitions, and the unique experiences of neurodivergent individuals. Together, Shannon and her clients work together to understand the impact of these experiences, build a sense of safety, and develop effective ways to cope with life’s challenges.
Shannon's goal is to create a space where clients feel at ease - comfortable enough to share what is weighing on them, what enlivens them, and the changes they would like to see in their lives. Her therapeutic approach is informed by several modalities, including Internal Family Systems (IFS), Somatic Experiencing (SE), Attachment-Based Therapy, and Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR).
Recognizing that the body can hold emotional pain and trauma, Shannon aims to help clients find relief from within, allowing their relationship with pain to gradually shift and soften. She supports clients in discovering and articulating their boundaries, honoring their limits, and developing tools to relate to pain and the many parts of themselves with greater care and compassion.
